Sofie Meyer
I am a Data Engineering student at UCT Prague and a programming student at 42Prague, currently finishing my Master’s. I enjoy working with C, Python and building Machine Learning models.
Outside of my studies, I love building projects at home, like using a Raspberry Pi for IoT automation or building new software and learning new tools.

Education
Masters: Data Engineering in Chemistry
2023 – June 2026
This studying taught me a lot about Machine Learning & Deep Learning, Math & Statistics, programming in Python, Data Analysis and SQL Databases.
42 Prague – Software Engineering student
November 2025 – present
To gain more hands-on programming experience, I enrolled at 42 Prague — a school focused on practical projects and peer-to-peer learning. You can find more information about the school here.
Bachelors: Forensic analysis
2019 – 2023
Though heavily chemistry-oriented, this degree introduced me to serious Mathematics for the first time — covering Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Statistics, with hands-on experience applying data analysis in chemistry.
Projects
Here you’ll find a selection of projects I’ve worked on — from data analysis and machine learning to programming challenges. Each one reflects my passion for problem-solving and continuous learning.

Recent Projects

A hands-on system administration project where I set up and configured a Rocky Linux server — covering security hardening, strict password policies, firewall configuration, SELinux, SSH remote access, and deploying web services.

License Plate recognition system
An AI-powered license plate detection and recognition system built with YOLOv8, PaddleOCR, and SORT tracking. Deployed on a Raspberry Pi with a simple webcam, it processes live video footage, automatically detects and reads license plates, and logs the captured plate numbers in real time.

Occasionally I participate in Kaggle competitions, and in one of those competition I needed to make a model for prediction Housing Prices. I also was working on Data Analysis, trying to find useful patterns and used regression techniques with Python and Scikit-Learn
